I'm assuming that we can't just level the Stratosphere itself, as much as I really want to.
How about we hit the hotel, check the registry, and then just start a room-to-room with all the Russian-sounding names? Failing that, we could scan the garage for the enemy's spy car(s), which he's bound to have, and either bug or trash them.
Of course, we do all of this AFTER we call HQ.
Another thought... We load up and head to a nice, remote location with the cell phone and wait for them to come after us. Then we KILL THEM.
Now that we have a meeting arranged, we'd better get there. Problem is, we don't know if our contract knows how James looks. The fact that Art could fool him at the phone would indicate a "no", but I think a major player would at least get a photo of James, so we have a problem. Therefore, we need some sort of cover story.
Since the delivery plan worked well with Andrew, I propose we quickly prepare an ambush, and have Jess show up "'because James is busy dealing with Samantha." Have Art stand by out-of-sight with James's cell phone, so if our russkie decides to check the story, he'll get a confirmation.
Jess will then lead the contact away from his car + bodyguards (if possible the latter, but definately the former - the guards will likely follow, but if they don't all do, atleast we have them split.) Then we do the good old "duck while the guys unleash hell" routine on the guards. If there are no guards, we should do some called shots and remove two kneecaps. Either way, let's try to catch the russkie alive. Then we can relieve him off his hotel key and check his suite. (Provided he was dumb enough to call from where he was staying.) *And* we get to piss off Stork even more when we get her someone else to take care of.
Sounds good. Any chance we can beg some people for automatic weapons? The "its raining lead" approach works so much better, especially from an ambush, if we're set up with things like oh...a nice scoped, bipod mounted AUG or the like.
I vote we don't do the meeting. They're coming to the meeting no doubt prepared. If we can get them as they're leaving their hotel or something, we can ambush them, etc. etc.
The only problem with meeting them as they leave is that they are clear on the other side of Vegas. It would probably be at least a 30 minute drive from the safehouse to the Stratosphere.
If at all possible Brian's going to grab the highest powered gun he has (either the rifle or the MP5, I dunno) and poke as little of him as possible, in his nice armored and helmeted way, and blaze away at drivers, engine blocks and the like. Burning drama dice as needed.
