I think our best option would be to get through to Mesa Negras, then render the Earth gate inoperable. Then hope there aren't any others...
Jade Imperium OOC 2
Like Hugh says, a few of those guys in a heavily-secured facility in the middle of nowhere = sucks, but not critical. What we need to do is a) Secure the gate, b) Kill the advanced scouts that went through, c) Disable the gate on our side. Preferably not permanently.
Once we've killed them all and are back home, we should at once start working on doing something like toppling the gate onto the ground. The gate's safety features will do the rest.

ADS, could we get a battlemap of what the probe is showing Max?
What the probe sees
You'll notice a lack of the 15 or so metal spider-spheres. They've moved off into the jungle already.

First priority is taking out the Mantaship. Toe-to-toe, we can take them on foot, but not with the ship providing air support. A couple of AT4s up its tailpipe should fix 'em good.
Those probes out in the jungle won't allow us much time for an ambush, so if the plan is to "get 'em!" then I vote we go sooner rather than later.

Agreed. Take out the manta and the rest will follow.
How do we deal with our prisoners?

If we can afford the time, I would recommend trying to draw the spiders (and Turai?) to us. We have a defensible position set up, which would give us the best chance of surviving the firefight. Then hit whoever's left in the clearing (alien nerd herd and guards?).
Gatac wrote:That will depend on how they answer Max's translations. Since we're not on Earth and the Turai don't have the slightest idea of the Geneva Convention, I say we cap one of them in the head and threaten the same to the other Turai.Agreed. Take out the manta and the rest will follow.

"What?"
"They speak English in what?! What ain't no country I ever heard of!"
"What?"
"English, motherf**cker! Do you speak it?" Say -what- again! I dare you!"

ADS,
Of the three in Semo's group, which two are likely to be best with the AT4s? I figure we need two to have the best chance of taking out the manta-ship.

Angel and Semo, because you're PCs and have Wild Dice in case you screw it up.
You can, of course, simply waste the little spider-things. If you wish to try stealth, the WORST among you (Mellish, d6) rolls, because the hostiles are actively looking for you. You can choose to spread out far enough to get your own individual rolls if Mellish's average d6 doesn't sound like your kind of odds.
I'm back after life overwhelming me for a week or so.
Thanks for keeping me alive

Wouldn't want to kill you when you weren't around to enjoy it!
Since we want to travel fairly quickly, I see it less as being stealthy and more as simply trying to avoid making unwarranted loud noises. I guess that means we go with Mellish's d6.
Once the cats are out of their bags, Max will be powering up his suit's helmet and putting it back on.
Does it look like they could get a reasonable angle to fire an AT4 through the manta's hatch? Seems like a nice way to say hello...
No ideas yet about tactics at the Gate site, but I want to know: how many Frisbees did we find? One squad just had one? Or were they all issued one? It changes our tactics a bit, methinks, if the later.
You guys only have the one. There are at least two assigned per six of them, at least judging from 1) the one you have and 2) the three that escaped did so after taking horrible injuries. But you only have one frisbee.
Good Morning, This Is Your AT-4 Wake Up Call
Gate site initiative:
Semo & Angel (holding action)
Turai
Evil Nerds
Base Camp initiative:
EVERYONE (holding action)
Recon drones
I don't have a map of the camp yet, and if you kill all nine drones I won't need to draw one, so good hunting!
Questions: I just want to be sure of everyone's weapons now, things have switched around a bit. I know the following people have the following:
Hugh: SCAR-H
Taylor: Stinger, 2 x P90
Mellish: Mk. 48
Stanhill: Still using your UMP45, or swapping around?
Kitty: SCAR-H
Andy: Beam rifle
Max: Taking a beam rifle to match up with the armor, or keeping your P90?
Other than the sword, I believe Semo and Angel both have their original loadouts.
