-1 AR-15 5.56x45mm NATO semi-automatic rifle (26 BP)
-40 rounds 5.56x45mm NATO AP ammo ($60)
Gatac 2002-07-12 12:24:47
- 1 FN P90 5.7mm PDW (24 BP)
- 1 spare magazine 5.7mm (50 rounds)
- 1 Tuxedo Liner (20 BP)
- 1 Laser Sight (2 BPs - will that be an extra item, or will it get me a P90 with integral sight ? The latter would be preferred for size reasons :) )
- 1 Binoculars (1 BP)
- 4 Headset radios (2 BP each)

which comes out to 55 BPs.

Q-Branch will make every effort to get an integral sight.

Since I take it that my pistol's silencer and laser sight wouldn't exactly fit on the AR-15, can I trade those in for matching rifle accessories? They're personal gear, so I'm not sure whether I can exchange it like that.
Dieter 2002-07-13 03:36:54
Sorry, personal budget is different from the mission budget. Just keep your pistol as a sidearm. There are bound to be times that your AR-15 will not be suitable.
Dieter 2002-07-13 03:38:49
Of course, but a silencer and laser sight for the AR-15 would be nice, too.
Gatac 2002-08-15 16:55:35
I saw the rambling going on about modified sunglasses some time ago, so I figured it's a good time to ask now with more GPs at my disposal: How much will a termal imager disguised as shades cost me ? And what about stuff like the "hearing aid" in JA2 (reduce noise of explosions or gunfire, amplify little sounds) ? Would that be considered a gadget (if so, how much would an earplug version cost), or simple equipment (in which case I'd go with the bulky headphone variant) ?

*scratches head*

umm, help me out here. Do I have any personal budget increase? If not, do I have any mission budget? How much?
Dieter 2002-08-22 15:28:38
Harry:
DEF: +1
FORT: +1
INIT: +1
BP: 7
GP: 5
Harry gained:
-6VP's with the level-up
-12 skill points
-Special Skill: Jury Rig which give +2 to computer and electronics checks while attempting to JR.

Your personal budget stays the same...I think. I'll check on that. Sorry for not being up on things, but I've been planning the final touches on my trip to Canada.
threadbare 2002-08-23 06:28:56
okay, so what's my mission budget? Also, I'd like to reallocate the personal budget points I spent on a MMORPG subscription for extra clips.
Dieter 2002-08-23 15:27:42
Alrighty...here we go. This is what you get in addition to personal budget expenditures.

Gavin: 18 BP's, 4 GP's, Field Expenses: $800
Artis: 15 BP's, FE: $600
Jess: 27 BP's, FE: $200
Harry: 21 BP's, FE: $500

Every also gets 2 gadget points plus whatever they start out with for their level.
Dieter 2002-08-25 11:30:04
I don't even know what I would want to get for 18 BP's. Suggestions?

GP's are a little easier to spend. They'd go into optics, most likely. At least I made bank on the field expenses.

Well, I'm just looking through the download chapter that got left out of the Modern arms guide, and for 8 BP you could get a lockpick gun(4bp, allows for untrained use of lockpick skill), a travel manual(3bp, +2 to relevent Cultures and Gather Information checks) and some water filtration tablets (20 tablets per 1 bp, or $2 per tablet, one tablet makes 50 quarts of water drinkable)

Other things of possible use might be regional maps (2bp/$20 +2 to boating, driving, and pilot checks in relevant areas) and language manuals (2bp/$30 +2 to relevant language checks)

I'm Mr. Shooty-Shooty, though. I guess picking up those guides and maps and stuff would be good if the bonuses would also go to team members.
threadbare 2002-08-28 06:53:51
What can I get for 7 GP? I suppose I could get a big-blingin' ride, but that wouldn't be too useful. Remember I don't have the main book or the modern arms guide here, so budget suggestions would be good, too.
threadbare 2002-08-29 17:12:44
Artis is requisitioning these items with BP:
-2 laser sights, one for his USP and the other for the rifle (4 BP)
-Mechanics kit (4 BP)
-Additional pair of handcuffs (1BP)
-Liquid skin patch (5 BP)
-Personal tape recorder (1BP)

And then with 1 GP, he'll get a Standard laser watch.

Vehicle:
I think we'll go with another Volga (aka Police Car stats)
Basic car: 4GP
Handling +6
MPH 70/140
Def 13
WP 110
Hardness 12

Black Headlights (1GP, -6 to spot car at night)
Extra armor (1GP, factored into stats)
Improved Handling (1GP, factored in)
Reinforced Tires (1GP)
Concealed Machine Gun (3GP, 7.62mm GPMG)
Remote control (1GP, -5 maneuver checks, but can control from 2 miles away off the keychain)
Special: because I got 5 or more vehicular gadgets at once, the cost is reduced by half so I only pay 4 GP (8 divided by 2) for the lot (p. 151)

Okay, for my budget I'm going to get a 9mm, a laser sight, and a liquid skin patch. My personal budget already has plenty of surveillence gear, it unfortunately also includes a 9x19, which isn't too subtle. I'm also using $30 of my field expenses to buy a travel manual.

As for gadgets, I'm not sure. I'll still have my starlight sunglasses, but what else should I get. Any suggestions from people who have books?
threadbare 2002-09-07 11:40:09
still doesn't have the gadgets I was looking for.

As for budget, I'll get a 9mm, a laser sight for the 9x19 (the silencer in the personal budget thing will work for the nine, yes?). Also, a GPS reciever and a flash suppressor for the 9x19.

I'm spending some money on a travel guide, and am thankful my personal budget includes water filtration tablets.
