OOC: XII - More sequels than a slasher movie.

It's funny - Jess has the least amount of vitality and wounds, but she seems to soak the most bullets.

No wonder she's a first aid angel - she has to know the entire Agency's medical staff by now.

It also seems that Jess is the biggest gunbunny of the team. Round for round, she fires more shots than anyone else...with the exception of maybe Ayumi. ;)
Gatac 2004-02-16 21:44:39
Yeah, but who always has to do suppressive fire, strafing and bursts?

I mean, Carla is a close-combat gal, Brian is a sniper, and Art is often busy with the vehicles. That only leaves Ayumi and Jess, and an SMG against two pistols? I can definately see who's going to win the cyclic rate comparison there.

So waitaminute here, what does our operating environment look like? Is that the only way out through the boats?

If so, this is going to be an awesome game of chicken.
threadbare 2004-02-17 08:31:12
Okay, so I'm just a little confused as to what's happening, but that's okay! There's apparently going to be some collision soon, which would undoubtedly involve a Reflex save. And you know what? I'm okay with that, because my Reflex save is through the roof, plus I've still got action dice.

From what I gathered, Carla was steering the boat out toward open waters. The two policeboats effectively closed off that avenue of escape by forming the diamond.

You could turn around at head back up the canal, but the manuevering room is a bit shaky...especially with Carla's non-wheelman piloting abilities.
Gatac 2004-02-17 19:15:12
Just how solid is this barrier of boats in front of us? Because when it says "effectively closed of", it sounds to me like "only a madman would try, but he just might manage it, too".

Also, for those who still doubt my 31117 muzak sk1llz:

Boatful of agents down in canal 5
Yeah it's a boatful of agents down in canal 5
Boatful of agents down in canal 5
Yeah it's a boatful of agents down in canal 5

Everybody needs a wheelman underwater
Everybody needs a wheelman
Everybody needs a wheelman underwater
Everybody needs a wheelman - Our's from the USA...

Well, they're two well-built patrol boats. And I think Carla is the type of mad(wo)man to try such a feat.

Let's just say if you threw in some action dice that you'd have a legitimate shot and surviving the crash. :cheesy:

All ahead flank speed

Crew, brace for impact

Hell yes. That was awesome. Now to find another boat, or some other suitable transportation out of here. The good thing is, we're out, and we've got a semi-functional boat.
threadbare 2004-02-18 18:23:53
Am I just following them like I have been, or am I shooting holes in their boat now?
threadbare 2004-02-18 20:18:53
I'm leery about the whole "turn around and attempt to sink several police boats" plan, especially when A) the bad guys don't know about Mr. Submarine Car, B) they're not being chased so they're less likely to just boat off somewhere, C) how are we gonna find them later?

Why not just commandeer one of their shiny new boats and make an escape?
Gatac 2004-02-18 20:24:04
What are our chances to commandeer a police boat?

I mean, I am alright with Goose following the baddies, but Jess will likely chew him out for disobeying orders later, so he'd better find their lair if he decides to go rogue on that one.

Inspiration Check:

Do you actually want to steal a policeboat? That's not the way to keep the attention off of you considering that in the past 2 minutes you've shot at, elbowed, and rammed the local constabulary.

You're better off just puttering into a nearby canal and swiping another boat...if you're want to go that route. You also have enough gas and with the proper amount of water bailing, you could easily make it to the mainland.

In the end, it's anyone's final decision but mine.

Talk amongst yourselves.
Gatac 2004-02-18 20:46:27
Hm. Mainland. Admiral, permission to disobey my orders :)

Here's my assessment:

1. We jack a police boat. This gets the Carboniere after us. We don't need that shit.

2. We jack another boat. This puts us in the same position we're in, only sinking.

3. We make for land, go to ground. We're in a twisty medieval city. I like this plan.

I suspect this is where my Safe House feat comes in.

I'll give Jess the address and such and continue surveillance. Perhaps the sneakiest people of the group could meet at the villa and raid it while Jess and whoever are out keeping "Liz", if that's her real name, happy?
