OOC: XVII - The nitrogenous waste surely has hit the rotary

These orders seem like bullshit. How are they going to order us around? We're outside the system.

I'm just dealing the cards out on the table. How you read the hand you're dealt and your opponent's poker face is entirely up to you. I will say that given your Team's strength versus the CSI-crew of Stavne's, you're definitely ahead in the chip count.

I believe the phrase "Shit or get off the pot" is fitting for this occasion.

Do the orders include Brian and Carla, or are they specific to Ilyanna?

Also, did Brian and Carla find anything of note while looking around the grounds here?

Nothing more of note. The big find was the hidden money cache in the residence.

The orders to Bol'Shoy Fontan state (paraphrased):

Ilyanna and her associates should proceed to Bol'Shoy Fontan with Detective Stavne as independent advisors to Central Command.

I'm averse to random hostages, because it gives the bad guys one more reason to call the cops in on us. Alternatively, they might just not care and assault us regardless, in which case we need to protect civilians.

If, on the other hand, we can find some of their guys that are still hunkered up here...well, I'm sure we can get a more favourable result with them as hostages.

Time to get serious.

As far as hostages go, I can only imagine that one ending one of two ways: either they bust in and kill us all, or they call the cops on us and then they kill us all. I doubt that anyone we can grab will be important enough to the bad guys to want to negotiate with us.

I think our best shot is either set off a couple fire alarms in the hotel and slip out as the entire hotel evacuates.
fanchergw 2005-05-24 18:27:23
It seems to me that the trail of evidence, and our best chance of locating Jessica, goes through Bol'Shoy Fontan. Cooperating at this point may actually be in our best interest.

Plus, since Ilyanna got her access clearance through the Ukrainian central command, they have a certain reciprocal ability to send her on to the next site. It is even possible that the Agency is using the Ukrainian government as an intermediary to pass the orders to them.
fanchergw 2005-05-24 18:27:38
Sounds like a plan, except I'd like to upgrade it to a real fire. I don't want them to cancel the alarm ala Die Hard.

Heh heh. That's just really funny. :cheesy:
punkey 2005-05-24 18:47:58
Sure, why not. Burn the apartment down, make it harder for them to find out what we took.

I say we go with the fire alarm after tossing the penthouse.

If we still encounter resistance downstairs, well, that's why the COBRA has a remote control. :D

We don't need no water let the motherfucker burn. Burn, motherfucker...burn.

So, the plan is to infiltrate Samantha's place then set it on fire?
Gatac 2005-05-24 18:57:14
Yeah. Moten CSIs, Peter hacks. When we're done, we go Streets of Fire on the apartment.

*Two* helicopters.

Think I can take them in one clip ;)

Brian will be stoic and cooperative until the Russians give him reason to be otherwise.

And we should be blasting the security cameras.

Noted.

So, who's proceeding through the archway?
Gatac 2005-05-24 21:48:43
I nominate Ayumi. She's our default point, and she's got the best chances to deal with whatever nasty security measures lie ahead.

Gatac 2005-05-24 22:32:13
Ayumi, on the defensive. Dodge declared on the world at large. If the explosion is doing more than three dice of damage, action die on the Ref save.
Dieter 2005-05-24 22:42:53
Everyone (but Ayumi) gets ONE reactionary action before initiative gets rolled.

Charge the door, get inside before it shuts. Fighting defensively.
