Giving that many drones orders will count as an action. Luis or Jonno can tell the drones to go full defense and still do other things, it's just going to count as an action (so any other actions will be penalized). It's not an action you need to maintain every round, but it does cost to start the drones a-dodgin'.
My advice would be to have Jonno command the drones. His d8 would drop to 2d8 lowest, but he'd get his d6 Aspect for helping Luis resist the Imperial hackers. Luis would roll his normal 2d10 hi roll. If Luis were to command the drones, he'd only roll 1d10 to counteract the hackers, with a d8 and d6 from Jonno's assistance.
The drones' evasion worked wonderfully. Unfortunately, the Imperial hackers rolled a 10 vs. Luis and Jonno's 6. They have accrued a total of 5 advantage over you (and they need 10 total to win).
Can Davis see what's going on on the other side of the doors? If it's just the three wounded Turai and wounded Caretaker, we can just open the doors and kill them, if they're not jammed shut. Also, can I (or Angel, maybe?) pass some Wild Dice off to E, since I'm busy playing diplomat at the moment?
ADS, nothing else going on this turn for me but trying to shut those suckers down. Worrying about drones and stuff later, just need to lock these jokers out. With WD now critical, we need to focus on one thing at a time. If we don't start racking up advantage this round, I'd like to know what happens if I reach for my WD.
With the drones in the Repository gone, you can't see what's going on in there. Someone could use an action to tell a poor little drone "go tell me what's happening in there and shoot them if they're messing with the doors".
You can't pass wild dice to each other, but a way around that (in a way) is to take an action to assist another team member. You pick a die type you want to add to your fellow PC's roll and roll your appropriate skill, trying to beat the roll of the helping die type you just picked out. When you roll, you can use WD to beat that. So in this case, Angel could pick something like a d12 helping die and then he'd roll his Tech->Computers and try to beat what the d12 rolls. Angel could use WD on his roll and thus pass some sort of benefit onto Luis.
It's not really the same, though. And it could just end up squandering other people's WD.
I don't think I'd worry just yet. I rolled the hacking/counterhacking stuff a moment ago and Luis just toasted the Imps. He's at 6 advantage to their 5 advantage now, and besides, Luis only needs to make it to 8 total. I just need to get some time to post that stuff, gotta go to work now.
We're not out of this yet, though. We've still got a battle to win on Boranai, a revolution to kick off, we have to get through the Black Gate, and then we have to talk to, show around and negotiate with the Emperor again. Plus, I can't imagine that everyone, especially the military or other power brokers, will just roll over and watch as the system they worked so hard to manipulate be complete changed out for a new one. We've just started, baby. I can't wait to see what's happening next.
What I imagine is going on behind the scenes is that the rebels have as many hijacked, stolen, or purchased storage units waiting to soak up as much as they can. They'll recognize Luis' signal and have that extra jump on everyone else. They'll have the pick of the litter and they'll have it locally, so even if the Cortex went away they'd still have the intel.
As for the Imperium, I figure you just collapsed the Soviet Union, but Russia is still around and they're not exactly friends with you yet. Ivan's right - worry about getting out.
Is there any way for us to see out there and know how many Turai are out there? Any simple cameras that Luis is hooked into, anything like that? Because they could just keep on winging spear-bombs through that gap, and we'd just get shredded. They're not affected by flashbangs and I don't think we brought any, so that's out. Our only drones are on the other side of the mass of hallways and would get shredded on the way here. If anyone has any good ideas as to how we get out of there without just running out and getting shot in the face, now would be the time. If we can just know how many of them there are and where they are, we could possibly roll out the door and sweep the room.
Heh. Nice to hear. I'm so happy: my parents got me a Kindle, which was quite honestly out of left field; I wasn't going to start asking until this year.
Um.... sure. They might pass inspection if you were to hold them, but they'd be betrayed as plastic shells if you were to drop them or have someone else hold them or something.
How about just have them on the ground? I'm thinking we surrender, either slide them out or get them to come in, and when they're distracted by the guns, we rush them and open fire. Swims can still use his meat shield, I just want to get them looking away for a second or two so we have that momentary advantage (and add my Aspect to help out a bit, of course).
Edit: Send Angel out stapled to Swims' backside, we need him out front, right behind Swims to take out as many people as possible. The last thing we need is to have to drag a Wherren to the Black Gate.
