Hmm..white slavery, that could be the missing element of this game I was looking for. j/k
Yes, Artis' vehicle (Adam, PM me with the details) will be waiting for you when you get to Russia. I'd recommend something that accomodated at least 4 people, unless you'll be putting someone on the luggage wrack.
I vote for a German car of some sort, since that'll likely be less conspicious there. Something like a VW Passat Variant if we need the trunk space, for example...
I don't much care what it is, as long as it has the police car stats. It's got pretty good protection, good speed, and OK handling. I don't know what old people in Russia drive, but if it's like over here, it'll be the same thing as the police.
Actually, you'll most likely be getting an old KGB-modified Mercedes. They're quite nice and built tough.
Gatac- I need you to post on the storyline thread to keep things going. Basically this means approaching Mr. Buscemi (he adequately distracted) and putting a gun to the back of his head.
Gaming question: How does the level of Language skill stack with the number of known languages ? The Lite manual mentions that you roll against it with some DC, and this determines if you know the language...but I'd prefer if I there was a way to figure out which languages Jessica knows before embarking on the next mission. I'd feel stupid if a lucky roll made her capable of reading ancient Sumerian
Dieter: Sorry, the translation reads, "The Princess Bride owns you." I saw at least one nod to it in Threadbare's post. I just thought it would be funnier if I put it like that. And that's babelfish.
Gatac: For every rank you purchase in the Languages skill, you either know another language or get rid of your accent with a language you already know. The Language roll to see if you know a language reflects that sometimes you learn languages in the classroom that you haven't used in the field before, so if you make the roll, then that just happens to be a language. Don't worry, though, the DC for knowing Sumerian is very high. If you had that many ranks in Language, it would at least make sense that you accidentally picked up Sumerian along the way.
Hey, since I can apparently have like 5 more languages according to what I think IP posted on the character sheet thread, do I have to pick them now, or can I keep them as a wild card?
First I'm going to talk about what I've got on the current speaker of the House, the twerp. We withheld that stuff to broker a deal on steel mill emissions. It's not big, but it's true, and it's on a powerful figure. My gut-spilling priorities go as follows:
1. opposition party figures. First little stuff on important guys, then the career-crushing info on the smaller guys.
2. People in the party I really don't like. Same priority.
3. Staff for the president or any high-ranking type guys
4. stuff that could be denied for guys I like
5. If it really gets down to it, I start lying, putting plenty of truth in sideways to make it more believable.
