Syndicate Financier Killed

Investigating reports of gunfire, police found the body of Oleg Petrovski in his Omsk penthouse. Petrovski, under house arrest pending investigation of his ties to a national criminal syndicate, was found lying in the bathroom with a single entry wound in the back of his head.

According to police sources, the body showed chafing at the wrists, indicating that Petrovski may have been bound before being killed. MVD representatives offered no explanation for the murder. Said Chief Inspector Kiriliakov:

"We are currently investigating several possibilities. It could simply be an act of passion by someone who disliked him, but if there's any syndicate involvement in this, we'll find out."

Petrovski rose to infamy several years ago when it was publicly revealed that he had laundered significant amounts of cash for the Russian mafia.

Although confined to his penthouse since then, his trial has been delayed by various legal movements surrounding the legality of his arrest and the evidence gathered against him.

Mafia Hitwomen Escape

(Los Angeles, CA)

Tracy and Anne Lockhart, "The Sister Assassins" are on the lam after a spectacular escape while being transported from a medical facility to the Mojave Flats Maximum Security Prison. A spokesperson from the Federal Prison System stated that the motorcade of three Federal Agency vehicles and prisoner transport were ambushed at an overpass about 30 miles outside of Los Angeles. Officials say that the perpetrators of the heinous crime were using military weaponry and tactics. Radio reports from the scene indicate that escape was executed with flawless precision as the support vehicles and personnel were taken out systematically, leaving only the transport intact and for the taking.

At the time of this report, twelve Federal agents were killed, three others in critical condition. Both Lockharts are presumed to be alive and at large at this time with every available resource being used to track them down and return them to custody. They are to be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Federal Officials warn the public and local authorities to exercise extreme caution in approaching these individuals and their accomplices.

Odessa Syndicate Leaders Killed

"Stunning news from outside Odessa. Full report after the break..."

"Several high-ranking members of the notorious Russian Mafiya group, The Odessa Syndicate were killed in a violent exchange of gunfire at an apparent leadership meeting in the seaside town of Bol'shoy Fontan. Before we continue, I'd like to advise our audience that footage you're about to see is graphic."

-GSRN EXCLUSIVE-

Bol'shoy Fontan

(The TV screen shows what appears to be a bombed-out hulk of a large seaside mansion. A helicopter zooms in on a grisly scene of shot-up/dismembered bloody corpses strew about the beachfront side of the residence, most gathered around a few tables. A few small fires still smolder in the backyard as a ground camera pans across the back section of the house where it appears that all the windows have been blown out. A crew of firemen are seen outside putting out a blaze on the first floor of the three-story complex.)

"At approximately 8:21am local time, authorities responded to an anonymous call to go the home of Teodor Raskov. It was at his estate where they discovered the remains of no less than twenty members of the Odessa Syndicate, many found executed Mafiya-style. As of press time, there are no known suspects but Captain Alexy Karnov of the Odessa Police Department's Organized Crime Unit was quoted in saying,"

This is just another example of why there needs to be more government support for local law enforcement and a sad showing of its lackadaisical attitude towards the Odessa Syndicate and other the multitude of other criminal activity which has plagued this region for years.
