Paybacks - Chapter 9: Guess who's back in town?
When I woke up, I went on what the movie advertisements refer to as a 'roaring rampage of revenge.' I roared. And I rampaged. And I got bloody satisfaction. I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I have only one more. The last one.
Jess whips out her MP7 and begins to prepare it for some serious shooting - stock out, front grip down, ACOG primed and a fresh magazine, just to be on the safe side. Her head's still swimming from Ilyanna's point blank attack, but it doesn't seem to be bleeding too badly, and she doesn't feel ill - still, not a visit to the Doctor that you should put off too long.
As she prepares for the assault, she looks over to Brian and Carla.
"I've got a sniper standing by for some fire support, but thanks to that little hussy we're down an escape vehicle. Suggestions?"

Brian takes shelter behind the wall of the guard house, grinning like an idiot.
"No now, we couldn't have you rescuing us...bad form old girl."
He fires two random shots over the wall for good measure while the courtyard descends into chaos.
"Well...running would be my idea. There were more trucks on the compound or failing that, the car we rode in. Added bonus if we put outselves between the bitch and her way out. I'd like to have a close personal chat with her."

Carla is less oblique.
"Chat? I'ma rip her goddamn lungs out."
"Chat? I'ma rip her goddamn lungs out."
Jess sports a mean grin.
"You and me both, Carla."
Cautiously, Jess moves towards the next opening and takes a quick peek at the surroundings.

The smell of burning jet fuel and human flesh begins to overwhelm the small gatehouse. Taking a peek outside, Jess sees the few survivors of the conflagration desperately trying to help their comrades out of the flaming wreckage.
"They're distracted. Time to move."
Kiev
Ayumi takes point, ascending the staircase up to the next floor without much ado. She finds herself it was appears to be Samantha's living room, decked out in the latest Eurotrash-styling. The area is quiet, with a few half-drank beverages sitting on a coffee table as a GSRN newsfeed plays on a plasma TV nearby.
We now go live to Omsk, at the scene of a horrific explosion at the residence of Oleg Petrovski...
Her eyes go wide when Ayumi sees her friends and a mysterious redhead retreating towards the Agency Jetta. The stunning revelation is only distracted by the squawk of a radio and approaching footfalls of someone entering the room.

Jess keeps close to Carla as they go for the Jetta, praying that nobody notices them.
But if anybody gets the bright idea to fire at them - well, that's where the MP7 comes in.

Artis moves low, looking for cover behind the aforementioned eurotrash furniture. He trains his AKSU on the approaching sound.
"Roger that. Floor is secured. Moving up." replies the guard, as he enters the living room. He's decked out in heavy armor, carrying a G36 Carbine in hand.
Artis has and Ayumi have the drop on him.
---
Team B approaches the Jetta with their newly appropriated Spetzie AKs. Jess shoots out the driver's side window and climbs into the seat.
Brian and Carla climb in, both noticing the GSRN Newsvan parked about 50 meters down the street. A reporter is standing in front of a cameraman and as they climb into the Jetta, the members of the media start running for the car.
Jess looks down at the steering column.
"Who's got the key?!"
Carla and Brian look at eachother, giving Jess the look of Guess who?.

An inquisitive voice is heard from in front of the Jetta as Jess frantically tries to hot-wire the VW.
"Excuse me! Excuse me! Diane Helsberg from GSRN News. What can you tell me about the crash? Barry, are you getting her in the shot?" inquires the woman, ignorant to the fact that:
a) Jess is currently trying to pop the ignition on the VW
b) Every passenger is pissed off and heavily armed.
Jess smashes the steering column and gets at wires all the while the reporter has her microphone in her face. She gives the wires a once-over and tries the first two that look correct.
The VW's engine turns over and roars to life.

She puts the Jetta in gear, then puts the pedal to the metal for a burn-out.

Artis has the unsuspecting guard in his sights before the guy can get out so much as a "Huh?", opening fire and stitching a path of destruction down the man's right side.
The guard falls to the ground wailing in pain as his femoral artery spurts blood all over the hardwood floor.
He'll never dance again.
Gunfire rings out in the apartment sparking a new line of chatter on the radio.
Base to Unit One, shots fired. What's your twenty?
Unit One Leader. Principle is secure. We're almost to the roof. Spotter's got the chopper in-bound.

Meanwhile...
Jess burns out, pulling a 180ยบ in the street and heads for Elena's perch. It should be noted that the reporter was valiantly following the Jetta up until the cameraman stopped to catch his breath.
Turning down a sideroad and braking in front of an abandoned apartment building, Jess addresses her wound once again as they wait for Elena. A few seconds later, a leggy brunette clad in drab civilian clothes runs out with her rifle bag slung over her shoulder.
She climbs into the backseat, grumbling to Jess.
"It is about fucking time. I was just about to give up on you and your damn-fool plan."

Artis crouch-walks up to the downed agent and tosses his G36 to Moten. He then puts a shot up through the guy's chin and lets the shell bounce around in his armored helmet.
"Stairs, let's move guys." Artis says. He quickly checks for any grenades clipped to the corpse's armor before following his fellow agents.

"Well, excuse me, my friends here just happened to bring a sleeper assassin to the party. Everything was going well until she double-tapped me in the head. Little bitch should have finished the job, though..."
She turns to Brian.
"Which way to the party?"
She turns to Brian.
"Which way to the party?"
Moten checks the rifle and slings it over his shoulder. He grabs any ammo the once-bad-guy had and moves up to the front to help clear the way to the roof.

"Awww...poor baby. You look better than when I found you. Can we go now?"
"You're right, we should be going. We'll sort out the destination as soon as Brian here picks up his jaw from the floor."
Jess blasts off again, getting the car moving at a good clip.
"Brian, Carla, meet Elena. Elena, meet my friends."
