In the time before recorded history, we were few in number, warrior-slaves of the Masters. The Masters would not or could not make war, so we vanquished their enemies in their stead. Soon after, the First Emperor led us to victory over our oppressors. The Masters withdrew through their Gateways, never to be seen again.
The Imperium spread its influence to all the worlds touched by the Masters, and more. Their magic became our technology, and from that we sustained the Imperium on planets upon which our kind were never meant to set foot.
Though alien species were encountered, in all our conquests we never found any more like us. Then, in the 116th year of the Immortal Jade Emperor's reign, they came to us through a defunct Gateway on a Wherren world on the edge of Imperial space.
It was only later that we realized that the people we killed weren't simply rebels. By then, it was too late. The path to the Homeworld was barred. We transported the Homeworld Gate to the Great Temple on Sambasan where it remained silent until the 118th year of the Immortal Jade Emperor's reign.
It was only open for moments. The Emperor's Turai were not prepared for the barbarians that spewed forth. The butchers from our own Homeworld escaped our righteous fury amidst the destruction of Sambasan's space elevator. Thousands upon thousands were killed and the Sambasan holy city rendered poisonous to life.
We have one of their own, however. The one named Simmons was more than cooperative when shown the alternatives. He will lead us to these barbarians and the Jade Imperium of a Thousand Worlds will finally take the most important world of all.
